Calcium Carbonate is a naturally occurring chemical compound found in rocks in all parts of the world and is the main component of shells, marine organisms, snails and eggshells.   

This is an exfoliant with absorption properties and sometime used to make cosmetics whiter.  

Calcium carbonate is widely used in toothpastes, creams, lotions and powders.  This is also used as an oil absorber so often used in face powders, foundations and finishing powders.  It is also used as an abrasive, buffering and bulking agent.
